Computer-Based Student Record & Tracking System

Computer-based instructional technologies and student record and tracking systems will play key roles in the Central California ENLACE Program's implementation sites.  Like many other states, California is moving rapidly toward achieving a high level of compatibility between student record systems used at the local district level and the CA Department of Education's student information system.  Several systems are currently in use in California, and these are being reviewed by the Central California ENLACE Program technical staff.  Effectiveness is the primary factor to be considered, although many other factors such as local district preferences, ease of use by program staff and classroom teachers, and compatibility with extant student record systems are also important elements in any adoption decision. 

Some of the elements that an ideal student record and tracking system for ENLACE school sites will offer include:

Academic Tracking Auto-Referral Systems
Program Evaluation Student Portfolio Files
Parent Access and Feedback PSE Admission Compatibility

Of significant importance to the ENLACE Program staff is the potential adaptability of any commercially-available student record system.  Although it is unlikely that any product as it is regularly distributed will include all of the record keeping and reporting features desired by school personnel as well as ENLACE program staff and evaluators, some systems are more easily adapted than others to serve the unique needs of  individual programs.
